In this episode, I share the 5th discipline of self-mastery: Authenticity. My hope is that after you listen to this episode you walk away feeling empowered that your ADHD brain wiring is simply brain wiring, you are not less than, or broken, and that you don't have to keep up with anyone else.
You are wired differently and that difference is not a deficit! and when it is nurtured and loved ... well, look out world cause you are about to make magic happen.

In this episode, I am excited to welcome back Dr. Ned Hallowell back on the show, this time we are talking about his new book ADHD 2.0. We do a deep dive into a couple of key areas in his book:
Why he likes to change the name from ADHD to VAST (Variable Attention Stimulus Trait), he explains why we do not have a deficit of attention. How if we manage ADHD it can enhance our lives and can become your superpower.
The main focus of this episode is Dr. Ned’s explanation of the regions of the brain called Task Positive Network and Default Mode Network and when these regions are not working effectively we go into extreme negative self-talk. He talks about a few simple but effective ways of managing negative self-talk.
Towards the end of this episode, he talks about the importance of the cerebellum in the brain that occupies only 10% of brain volume but has 70% of the neurons in the brain and its connection to the executive functions of the brain.
Also, stay tuned to the end as Dr. Ned continues to share some amazing gold in our wrap-up conversation.
I highly recommend his new book ADHD 2.0, it is truly a simple but yet effective guide to better understand ADHD and effective ways to manage it.

#62: Creating new work because we don't like mundane tasks?!
Friday Apr 02, 2021
Friday Apr 02, 2021
In this episode, I talk about the vicious circle that I see when it comes to avoiding tasks that we just do not feel the urge to complete however we end up creating new ones because we love to put out fires. I recall the days where I used to proactively look for new problems and fires to put and now I realize I was doing that because I was bored and needed stimulations. However, what I didn't realize at that time was I was not honoring my capacity to how much was already on my plate.
In this episode, I share my view and a few tips to not become the Fire Marshal of every fire.
